Re: PJ Pic of the Day #10
Nice find Romario. I did a search for "pj harvey seamus murphy" on that site and it came up with 172 pics. Most are familiar, but there are a few more i don't remember seeing before.

Re: Is This Desire? research
I looked for live versions of The River and I am now addicted to this version from the LES tour. I think the guitar part has hypnotised me
I think it is closer to the original demo than the album version.

I Wish she still played this one!
Most excellent!

Re: Polly's lyrical references
Have you ever wondered why "Pig Will Not" is called "Pig Will Not"?
I mean, where does the pig come from? Why isn't it called "I will not"?
If you google "Pig Will Not", the first couple of hits are for the song, but the next ones are for a book:

Polly's guitar part has exactly the same melody, just slightly different speed.

Re: ORLAM – A narrative poem by PJ Harvey – published April
maybe I just read too much into things
Definitely not, the analogies you found are spot on. It looks like the influence is actually quite heavy, from the structures down to the refined sound sequences. I gotta check the rest, this is very interesting
Have fun! I couldn't find a stand ...

Re: ORLAM – A narrative poem by PJ Harvey – published April
I decided to read "Mercian Hymns" by Geoffrey Hill because Polly has said several times that it had a strong influence on Orlam. It's quite a short book of poems and I enjoyed it, and also found a number of "echoes" between it and Orlam. They share the same idea of having people from different times ...

Good detective work!
It's the same van that appears at the end of the Rapido interview.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5elYVr50BE&t=1s
It says "Harvey" on the side and "Ham Hill Stone" on the back, so it must have belonged to her dad's stone quarry - very handy for shifting heavy gear about.
